Nine months after our last check in, Aedis Real Estate Group is putting the finishing touches on Hope on Alvarado, a new supportive housing development in Westlake.

The five-story building, composed of prefabricated modular units, is located at the northeast corner of Alvarado and Valley Streets. The completed development will offer 84 studio and one-bedroom dwellings - ranging from 400 to 800 square feet in size - in addition to supportive service provided by Homeless HealthCare Los Angeles and a small parking garage for employees.

KTGY Architecture + Planning designed the project, which includes a single-story concrete podium. The steel modules are arranged from the second floor and up around a central courtyard area.

Completion of the more than $27-million project is on pace to occur this year.

Aedis is planning similar modular supportive housing developments at two locations in South Los Angeles.
